Fixed the Old Boiler System
When I arrived at the chapel for the first time, the pastor gave me a quick tour of the grounds. One of the things I noticed right away was the existence of a Weil-McLain commercial boiler system that ran on gas. It was being used to heat the church gathering space. It was an energy-efficient unit with special boiler controls and zone controllers on a wall panel. I didn’t anything of it until one day when I was giving the sermon and the room started getting really cold. With the freezing weather outside, it doesn’t take long for the room to cool when the heat isn’t working. The pilot light went off and the boiler was kettling loudly, so I called a local heating contractor for emergency boiler repair right away. The boiler specialist got there in 10 minutes and inspected the unit. After a quick look, he determined it needed to be replaced because the main tank was leaking and the pipe was corroded. Luckily, the heating company’s service van had the boiler parts we needed. They replaced the entire unit with a brand new fire tube boiler and setup up the heating system controls for easy access. Within minutes of turning on the new unit, the room was warm and we were able to continue mass. I’ve never experienced a heating emergency before, but I was very grateful for the fast service provided by this particular HVAC contractor. We’ll be praying for them.
